Turkey Time - A Moist One!

I am into the yearly ritual of planning a GREAT Thanksgiving Dinner! Such high expectations can cause some stress to a slow paced relaxed mom!

As I began making my grocery list this morning, organizing the weeks schedule, doubling the recipes for potential extra guest, and trying to get every ones favorite food for the week, I remembered how tasty our Turkey was last year.

You see, my motto is make it easy, fun, and quick so mom can be part of the festivities too. I'm not a fan of being trapped in the kitchen wrestling a bird when I could be in the living room playing (scratch that) *winning* games with the fam! Yep, I said winning because I am rather competitive!!!

If you are looking for a simple way to make a great turkey, then I suggest you take a peek at the
Turkey Brine we found on All-Recipes. The only change we did was to soak our turkey over night in an ice chest. I don't know about you, but we never have enough refrigerator space to just throw a turkey in there!

We put ice in our ice chest the day before we use it to cool it down. (A tip I learned from my grandmother! Thanks Gram!) Then the following day when we add our turkey and brine to the cooled down ice chest and it won't thaw our turkey too fast.

We used this for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year and all of our kids thought they were the best turkeys we have had over the years!

Hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving Week. I am OFF to SHOP!
