The Birth of Hadley

A story of a beautiful young woman, a strong young man, and the love they share for their little girl, Hadley.

Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take
all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all
over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Ephesians 6:13

Jane was around 21 weeks pregnant with a baby girl when the doctors shared they believed their precious Hadley had Thanatophoric Dysplasia. This is a lethal form of dwarfism and her chest was not growing at the rate it should. The doctors shared she will probably deliver premature and she won't be able to survive outside of the womb.

Jared shared...."We're relying on our faith in our Lord and praying that He works in miraculous ways, but we realize that God is deserving of our praise no matter what the outcome. Please join us as we get on our knees before God and cry out to Him on
behalf of Hadley."

It was and is a beautiful testimony to watch this young couple live out their faith. I have known Jane since she was born and was privileged to babysit her over the years. Her family has made a major impact on mine. Watching her parents live out their faith during my high school years. Them welcoming us into their home as college students and young parents ourselves. Their children (all 10 of them) has as much an impact on us as their parents. I am amazed to watch how God can use kids to show his love and grace, if not more so, than adults! Our children do/will have great testimonies, we must lead them well. But whether we lead them well or not God ultimately is the one that captures their heart.

So to hear that Jane and Jared would be faced with a daughter they might likely not get to hold was so surprising. There are not words that can comfort in these moments and days for this family. It takes God's arms wrapped around them daily to sustain the road they are on. I cannot imagine the courage it took for Jared and Jane as they chose life for the little one God had created, to face those around her excited about her pregnancy but not knowing what this family was facing. To carry a child for weeks not knowing how long she would survive, to be faced daily that although your belly is increasing your little one will not be here long.

This young family has a story that is still being written. They are willing to walk where God leads and share that although we don't always understand the things that come our way they will follow their Lord.

There is no comprehending The Fathers love!

"These were the greatest 93 minutes of my life. How he loves us, oh how He loves us... God has wrapped His loving arms around us and we have felt His love far beyond anything we've ever experienced. Praise be to God."

A mom and dad adoring their little one.
