Here, There, and Everywhere!

Oh...what a day!

Getting out the door....
I had to get up in a rush to get college student, high schooler, baby, and me out the door. Not a simple task when you have 10 minutes because husband did not wake you :) He thought I was awake. I am laughing....seriously.....if I have to leave in 10 minutes and I am NOT out of bed...HINT...I am NOT awake!

On the run....
Here we go, Moms gotta do what moms gotta do. First, I have to get K, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 8th grader settled with who is to do what/when! With the added explanation there is to be No fighting, No Wii, No online, and they are to clean up their messes.

Next....
Getting college student to work which at the last minute she got a ride. We were already out the door and there seemed to be no reason to walk back in and have to re-cover all I had already done so high schooler, baby and mom get some donut treats. Shh don't tell the others!

The wait....
Off to Academy (one day of classes for homeschoolers) we go. We drop her off and quickly baby and I rush to well baby visit at the doctor. WHY do we rush? I spend over 2 hours in the office. They know we are coming. It should be simple in and out. AND yet...over 2 hours!!!!!!! Brady is an easy baby but after 2 hours in the little room he was bouncing off the walls! Did I mention 2 hours! (every time I go, 2 hours)
(soapbox)
2 hours x 8 kids...who has that kind of time???? That was only the regular doctor so if you add a dentist and an orthodontist, that is a lot of waiting.
Another irritant is 8 children x paperwork = a book!

Seriously, 5 pages for each child at one doctor....I end up filling out 40 pages which 32 of it is the exact same on every child! Waste of time!
(Of course, at least I have only 8 unlike a friend of mine with 12!)

A few extra things....
Quick lunch only to discover working child forgot some paperwork, run it to work. Now time to pick up highschooler plus 2 last minute friends. Run them home and realize I have nothing for dinner. Run to grocery store which should be a couple of minutes, but NO.
(soapbox)
Why do we have 7 cash registers and only 1 cashier at 3:30 in the afternoon?
This IS when every other mother realizes after picking up her children from school she doesn't have dinner figured out either.
(solution to economic crisis)
Could we sell some cash registers and actually employ some people?

Tennis time....
But first, run home to drop off groceries, pick up something for a friend, take 2 young kids home, then tennis. I get to watch 30 minutes of tennis, leave 2 of the boys to finish playing while mom and kindergartner go home for me to get a moment to collapse. PTL high schooler and college student are making dinner. I walk to my room and tell NOBODY where I will be. Lay down thinking I am going to completely pass out for about 30 before Barry gets home. At which time I can ask him to pick up boys from tennis.

The call....
The truck won't start. My 30 minute moment turned into less than 5. I am back out the door to get Barry. We jump the truck, drive to auto zone to test it, drop truck off at house then back to tennis courts.

Ahhhh....
A moment to sit outside in fresh air. We finally get home at 8:00, eat dinner, tuck a few kids in, allow older kids to rent a movie and are now almost ready for bed. Enjoying some down time with Barry, time to talk, laugh a little, finish some computer work before lights out.

Until....
I realized the baby has been down since 4:30.....What are the chances I will get a full night sleep?
The realization....
In the midst of it all, I got one on one time with each of my family members!
I don't know how He does it, but He does! God still fills my heart with JOY in all this craziness!

  1. That's a crazy day, Girl! Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in getting us through. Last night I wasn't sure I could do "this" anymore, but here we are - a new day - and the strength to keep on keeping on. Blessings on your day!

  3. I just read your comment on SQ. To post the video, I just googled how to post a video in blogger. Then I went to the ehow.com option. It will tell you just what to do. This was a first for me, but it was very easy. Good Luck!
