I am so thankful for the opportunity that God has given me to get away for a few days with family and friends (women only). At first it sounded divine and then I realized I would be leaving my baby for the first time in over 2 years. He was with me for 9 months and now almost 2 years old we haven't been apart! ugh! As a friend says it really is amazing how we beg for time off and then when it comes our way we aren't sure about it.
I pressed on with the help of older kids and a husband who is AMAZING! I don't know many men that would say "yes" bring over 4 more kids, leave me here with 12 and you go enjoy your entire week! Amazing...right?!
What a joy to be with my mom, sister, MaryBeth (my mentor) and Jenny her daughter that I used to baby sit! YIKES! Lets say 30 kids later between us all and we are having an amazing time of laughter, sleep, and love!
Do you have friends that fill your soul?
If you do send them an encouraging hug today.
If you don't, it is never too late to begin friendships that last the test of time!
These women bless me!
A mom who taught and trained me to walk with God and helped me realize that my feelings may be real but they may not be accurate. She taught me to take control of my emotions, look to God and let Him sort out the details while I trust!
A sister who walks life with me as we figure out parenting, marriages, and loving our parents! She can identify with me because we are walking the same path in life. We may be in different states but there is no new life when you are a woman, wife, mom, sister, friend!
A mentor who walked the life my mom taught. She was my window of seeing how do you parent! How do marriages work in the midst of family and chaos! How we can have a family and still serve in God's kingdom!
And Jenny the young woman who stole our hearts as a curly headed young toddler! And now we watch in awe as she walks with Christ and eagerly looks to honor him as a young adult woman making a difference in the lives she is around!
From fantastic women, an amazing family and a gracious God...this mom is getting her cup filled!
When was the last time you had your cup filled?
